Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Monday said the United States wants permanent and long term relations with Pakistan to resolve issues.
He further said that the US had acknowledged the role and sacrifices of Pakistan given in the war on terror.
Asif quoted Secretary Mattis as saying; "We are aware of the human cost Pakistan in this war on terror."
Pakistan told us that he did not need any financial assistance.
Pakistan also apprised the US Secretary of Defense James Mattis that 125 attacks in Pakistan were carried out from Afghanistan. He added that the civilian-military leadership emphasized on effective border management with Afghanistan and the repatriation of Afghan refugees.
