Here's one the greatest problem extricated specifically from his survey:

"The Apple TV likewise naturally inclinations invigorate rate over some other setting: if your TV underpins 60Hz HDR10 yet just 30Hz Dolby Vision (like 2016 LG OLEDs), the Apple TV will pick HDR10, despite the fact that HDR10 looks more terrible than Dolby Vision. Apple revealed to me that is on account of it needs the interface and amusements to keep running as easily as could reasonably be expected; it's discovered that the interface judders at 30Hz. So you'll deteriorate HDR however a smoother interface, all in light of the fact that the Apple TV won't switch modes."

A session presented on the Apple Developer site says that beginning with tvOS 11.2, the Apple TV 4K can be set to consequently switch video show modes to coordinate both the dynamic range and the local casing rate of the starting video content. To empower, proprietors should choose "Match Content" from the Video and Audio settings menu where they can freely coordinate the dynamic range and casing rate (see picture above). Both will be crippled as a matter of course, says Apple.

The awful news is that we have no clue when the tvOS firmware will land to refresh current 11.1 boxes. With respect to YouTube 4K HDR bolster and stumbling the Dolby Atmos light on Nilay's collector? Those are Apple TV 4K points for one more day.
