Alphabet’s Waymo testing its own self-driving trucks

Waymo Alphabet's self-driving organization that was spun off from the Google can apparently do the same. BuzzFeed News reports that Waymo is now testing its autonomous trucks, last year Uber purchased trucking startup Otto & kick off Uber's self-driving semi venture.



BuzzFeed news also said it is first spotted Waymo's self-driving truck in the photo, before confirming project with the company. A Waymo team-leader explained Waymo's company efforts, by saying that it was "taking our 8 years of experience in the building self-driving software and hardware & conducting a technical exploration into, how Waymo's technology can integrate into self driving truck." Main focus is safety into the sector, the spokesperson also said, that the aim of reducing the death or accidents each year.

Uber & Waymo have rapidly become rivals now, but Google spin-off is not as far along in self-driving truck sphere as ride-sharing firm.

Waymo self driving company also confirmed that Waymo was testing one vehicle at this moment. Wamyo's was still testing on manually driving it on public road to collect data. Waymo had some problems with the self-driving project, the vehicles were accused of breaking the California's driving laws, also its take more time to test and more time to plan for its own self driving network of automated self driving vehicles.
